Logo Meaning
Operation Smile is an oraganization that provides a free surgery for children with cleft lips and other facial deformities. These children have insecurites, feelings of humiliation, outcast
and the most excrutiating part is not being able to show what normal children are defined as; happiness. These special children could not smile as good as other children do. Therefore, I want to make these children feel like they belong to this organization, it is their hope and home. The main point I want to achieve here is for them to feel happy each time they see Operation Smile logo.

I choose to incoorperate a clown face and a surgeon’s mask to collaborate the essence of Operation Smile’s main cause: to make the special children smile again by providing a free
surgery for them. The clown face with hidden nose behind the surgical mask is meant to make anybody who sees this logo laugh. This will nurture a warm feelings for the brand in the audience’s heart.

I didn’t want to make the logo too restricted with surgery because it will make the kids feel afraid of such thing. It is not my intend to make them think of scissors, doctors and cutting so much. I just want them to feel happy. I minimized the surgical elements by putting only a little bit of stittches on the drawn mouth on the surgical mask to hint the adults that Operation Smile specializes in giving free surgeries for the special kids.

Tagline Meaning
I chose the word “Repair” for the verb of the tagline because Operation Smile logo whould be able to tell the services that they offer to the public. The children born with facial deformities have longed for a saviour to help their face be normal again. It would change their whole world. Now, Operation Smile is here to help them by repairing their facial structure into a more normal look.

Mainpage - the 3D booth will be in the middle and nanti ade welcome message which says "Energy waste heats up the Earth" and "Save Eectreecity..." our lects sroh pendekkn sket ayat tu sebab mcm byk sangat nak letak 2 sentences besa2 kt mainpage. so, people have to click the booth to enter the website.


About Page - dah click booth tu, the screen will zoom into the About page. ppl can click the booth to get more details about the campaign. page laen pun camni gak lebey kurang.

Exterior - the booth is placed inside a dome so that the booth's surrounding will be dimmed. adela sebabnye.. dah siap nnt bgtau..


About Booth - where people learn about the campaign. the campaign's logo will be placed on the board yg extruded kt blakang tu..


Products Booth - people can buy a bear-shaped energy saving light bulbs to support the campaign and reduce global warming. these are the big bulbs which can be a table lamp.


Product Display - these are the small energy saving light bulbs. it comes in 4 colours. nanti nk buat d light bulbs tu glow~

could you draw a visual for each lines in a song? i wish i have that much time to figure them out.. saw the video on Design Work Life. got distracted from making 3D yg macam tuuuuuuuuttt...... but i'm starting to feel OK with making 3D coz it's fun to see something you sketch become sumtin quite real..

wow! that was educative.. everything you need to know about what makes Japan a strange country has been compacted into this 11 minutes video. it gets weirder towards the end.. i wish they can make a video like that about Malaysia too, but maybe those cute simple illustrations doesn't quite suit Malaysia's style.. i love the combination of the illustrations and Museo typeface too. i think, it's the first time i see people using Museo in motion data visualization. the voice over tone matches the idea of the whole video too.

Off The Cuff Show!

interested? you are most welcome to see me and my friends perform TODAY! the flyer's last minute coz i've been pretty busy doing Corporate Identity. we've been preparing for this show for 9 weeks now. it's time to show what we've got! hehe..

i chose the name myself. hope you guys from the theater class are okay with it. i searched on Wikipedia about "Improvisation" and came across the term "off the cuff". it's basically a synonym for "Improvisation".

it's very hard to think of an illustration that have a connection with "Improvisation". could you think of any? i didn't want to just make a sad and happy face drawings like most theater posters and logo do. but, then i end up doing silly characters like in the poster. well, i was thinking of what do people do when they forget their lines or how they're supposed to act. maybe they'll act crazy / poyo2 sket / angry / sad.. haha.. xde kne mengena.. but, that's what i've came up with :p~

i'm certain that these things are true, accept for the wine part coz my mom baru balik hospital smlm and she said the doctor said she's in a tip top condition. blood pressure ok, no breast cancer and weight pun ok.. i guess she did all of these things for the whole of her life, specially eating ulam and working the whole time. she doesn't even need to exercise..

it's my mom's birthday today and she still doesn't sit at home and relax. she's a very hardworking woman. i gave her a card on hers and Ateem's recent birthday party that we did in Emas Sutera. i told her "for the bounderies you've made me break, for the path you've lid up on my way, Happy Birthday Mom. You're the coolest person ever!"

we used to waste lots of our parents money to buy things we don't even care about today, toys. toys helps us develop our interests and all, but dah besar ni rase cam membazir plak bli banyak2 toys. last2 bersepah merata2. though, sometimes i did check into my bro's room and play with my old Snoopy and KFC Colonels' figurines.. most of the times i'll stick my butt on this red chair and surf the net, designs and stuff. who would've thought one day we'd all be devoted to the net than playing our Hot Wheels cars..

neway, it's been a very long wait for Toys Story 3. if i'm not mistaken, i was 7 or 6 when i first watch the movie. it was my 2nd favourite movie apart from Lion King :p~ i'd play it again2 and again.. mane dah pegi tape2 video gedabak tu sume.. i used to build my own fortress with them. susun satu2 the video tapes, buat rumah and hide in them sorang2.. pastu bila my Nenek or Ucu lalu, i'd come out and scare them! hehehe! bestnyeee mase tu... i like playing on my own. i don't remember if i had any 'imaginary' friends. i don't think i have one. but i liked to pretend i'm talking to someone else. i remember i took over the whole living room to build my fortress. then, bila dah abes maen i'd sepak sume video tapes tu, runtuhkan the whole thing wooohooo~!!

what is really great about playing with white space is that it gives much more emotion, meaning, emphasize and attention towards the visual and text of an image. these Sandisk ads proves that an ad can be humorous with the use of more space and simple illustrations than complicated characters drawing.

now that i finally get what it means, the whole point of the posters is to show how big things can be stored neatly inside a small thing. for example, a fat mat can fit into a slim Elvis suit, a tuna fish can be chunked into a small can, a goat can be stuffed into a snake's tummy and of course, a boat can be break down into little pieces and put into a bottle as a decoration. terrific!
