Mr. Bowlegs

Jeffrey Bowman is one of my favourite illustrator. he works alot with Computer Arts Magazine. there's always fun things scattered around in his work, waiting for their meanings to be discovered. i looked at those elements as clues towards the real meaning of the works. that's what makes his artworks so much fun!

The Pixel

The Pixel Blog

i simply love this blog!!!! the colours are sooo tasty and funky! the illustrations make the whole blog looks fun and exciting!

The Pixel Blog were awarded The Website of The Month by The CSS Award for obvious reasons. They scored 8.09 marks! that's alot, is you ask me. it's not easy to be The Site of The Month.

i just wish i can make a pretty website like that. starting with re-designing my blog.

instrucionalicious!

mindmapping: an instructionalicious guide

here's a mindmap of how to make a mindmap done by lunchbreath. sweets from Share Some Candy. somehow, i thought of my first DF class.. haih.. i was so rajin back then..

take down those notes!

sure, people might bring laptops, PDAs or anything electronic nowadays to write lecture notes in class today. but, i still prefer the traditional method: writing notes in notebooks! it's more original, personal and effective that way. so, i took some time to look for some pretty notebooks around the net, mostly from Etsy coz Etsy have lots of exciting hand-made stuff and i loooove hand-made stuff! i sure have some other notebooks stored on my blog if you wna check em out.

Lifehacker compiled The Most Popular DIY Projects of 2009 and these are my faves! some of em are really easy to do and the materials are quite easy to find too. accept for the broken laptops, you have to have one. i might try doing some of em to fill up my times this holiday. Uglyfying Your Camera sounds fun :)

blender pen can blend things

i just knew that after i read Poppy Talk's post on making a gift tag using blender pen technique. with just 3 steps, you can use a blender pen to transfer images onto paper products, fabric, lino or even wood. follow the tutorial and see if it works.

Step 1: Loosening

Step 2: Burnishing

Step 3: Check

printies

Printed Dress by Josh Good

bila bley pakai camni? bila dah ade duet sendri n bley abeskan sume mengikut kehendak hati n xde sape nak mara.. i love the sleeveless, long sleeves and big stripey jacket specially..

quoted from The Cool Hunter:
"The collection, made up mostly of elongated t-shirt dresses, mini dresses and tanks, was all about bold graphic prints. The pieces themselves, which also included a handful of pants and jackets, were kind of secondary, acting more like personal, mobile canvases for the beautifully sharp, urban graphic prints that adorned them."

Melonic Maniac Logo Sketches
haha! the bottom left one looks like a tikus! i like the upper right one the best! maybe not with that seeds coz it look's like a panda's face..

Melonic Maniac Logo Sketches
reminded me of Batman's logo :))

Melonic Maniac Logo Sketches
the upper left one look like MTv's logo :p~

Melonic Maniac Logo Sketches
the left one looks good as a watermark when it's put at a corner of a photo like that.

can't wait to digitalize it! i'm soo psyched!

yeah! get some!

that's just a phrase from a bad army in Avatar mse dea tembak2 tu :p~

after EM submission and a 3 hours sleep at Ecah's, Alia's n Shrr's room (u girls really should make a collaboration name like a band's name), i did some sketches which tibe2 je arose in my brains.. i wanted to change my blog layout.. on my sem break, i wna change everything! make some new stuff.. try my best to polish my skills, specially in illustrations n 3D.. Gamma 3 will be hell! so, i'm gna prepare fo it..

these are my blog layout's sketches. i really don't have any idea ho to make it exactly like these.. but, i'll try my best.. have to build up my CSS skills.

Melonic Maniac Blog Sketches
Layout

i really wna make my blog look like.. me. i want it to be colourfully dark. the theme is cute but dangerous :p~ i'm gna use lots of triangles coz i'm into those kind of shapes now.

if u noticed, in 2007, the retro look starts to get popular.. people used to like using round thingies.. then as the year goes along, rounded rectangles started to appear more in people's design.. be it dresses, bags, websites, whatever.. then now, i see these triangles everywhere!

another thing i notice is that in 2007, people love the simple geometric retro patterns, when Lady Gaga shows up in 2008, the 80s came up from dead. big, puffy, angular sleeves, leather and steels stole our attention. in 2009, it's a clash between the 80s and 90s. 90s looks are rather weird because everything is mismatched, in a good way of course.

ok, back to my sketches..
